House Rules

Caste System – The social hierarchy of Valmaria and how it affects characters.
Leveling and XP – This game will be using the Pathfinder character advancement rules.
Bonus XP – I’m a big fan of players creating supplemental and complimentary material (such as backgrounds, artwork, and journal entries). This link will list out XP awards you can gain from doing this.
Critical Rolls – Any 20 or 1 rolled is a critical roll, regardless of what kind of check it is. That’s just how I do. You always have a 5% chance of success and a 5% chance of failure.

Character Creation Resources

Race – Your character can be of any D&D race from an official WIzards of the Coast 3.5 era book (pending DM approval for the weirder ones). This includes monster races such as Drow, Orc, Centaur, Goblin, Duergar, etc. Additionally, I have created 4 custom races for this world:

Custom Races

  • Zkiaq – A psionic elven variant
  • Impin – Alchemical Volcano-dwellers
  • Merfolk – Champions of the depths
  • Chupacabran – Coyote-faced Halfling savages

Resources and Prestige Classes – This game was designed to be as inclusive to the various 3.5 books that have been written, but unfortunately I cannot allow everything. I will compile a list of acceptable prestige classes and have a link to it here. If you have any questions just ask me. It would be fair to say that most options are acceptable. What is definitely not so far is anything from the Book of 9 swords or the Psionics Handbook (those books are meant to be played independently, and are cray cray OP compared to the more standard books. I’m putting together some very specific Psionic classes as we speak, if that’s a direction you would like to go).

Character Background
Even if you don’t have a full backstory figured out yet, I would prefer that you start play with a country of origin and a someone fleshed out persona base on your caste (see the Caste System ). The Caste System page also clarifies your starting wealth, which will allow you to pick out equipment and whatnot. All magical items must meet DM approval.
